Co-directed by Raha Amir-Fazli and Alireza Qasemi, ‘Solar Eclipse’ will be running at the competition section of the 2022 edition of the German film fest.
‘Solar Eclipse’ is a joint production of Iran-based Zel Sheshom Film Company and White Star, which is a film and audiovisual production company based in France.
The Manifest Company is also in charge of the international distribution of the short film.
“Shortly before the eclipse is complete, the reality of someone’s life changes,” reads as a brief synopsis of the film.
The cast list includes Faraz Modiri, Payman Naeemi, Anita Baqeri, Paniz Esmaeeli, Khorshid Cheraghipour.
‘Solar Eclipse’ has previously taken part at the 30th Côté Court Festival in France, the 11th Figari Film Festival (FFF) in Italy, the 43rd Outdoor Short Film Festival of Grenoble in France, the 2021 Rhode Island Int’l Film Festival in the US, the 21st Nice Film Festival in France and the LA Shorts Int’l Film Festival.
The long list of the film’s international screenings go on with the 19th Switzerland-based Shnit Worldwide Short Film Festival, the 2022 Int’l Short Film Week Regensburg in Germany, the 2022 BUFF Int’l Film Festival (BUFF 2022) in Sweden, the 2022 Aspen Shortsfest in the US, the 40th Cine-Jeune de l’Aisne Int’l Film Festival in France, the 16th Show Me Shorts Film Festival in New Zealand and the 49th Athens Int’l Film + Video Festival (AIFVF) in the US.
On January 2022, ‘Solar Eclipse’ also grabbed an honorable mention at the 34th Minimalen Short Film Festival in Norway.
The Landshut Short Film Festival is a popular short film festival in southern Germany close to Munich. Short films of all genres to a maximum of 30 minutes of playing time can be submitted.
In various competition categories, there are 15 awards with prize money amounting to a total $ 28,000 to win.
The upcoming LAKFF is scheduled for April 17- May 08, 2022 in Landshut city in Bavaria, southern Germany.
